Colourpop & NYX Lippies!

I was always hesitant at trying out lipsticks like the two above, as I've read that they leave your lips dry.
I couldn’t have been more wrong.
These two lippies were given to me by my friend, otherwise I would have never tried them in the first place (thanks, Narcisse!). The Colourpop Satin (mine's shade Catching Feels) retails for around PHP500.00 and the NYX Matte (mine's shade Seduction) for around PHP490.00. I based these prices on BeautyManila, but of course prices may vary.
Before I talk about these two lippies, let me make a disclaimer: I know that comparing these two would not really be fair since the NYX lipstick is matte and the Colourpop is satin. So treat this more of an individual review of two products conveniently put into one article.
I loved both of the lipsticks, most definitely the shade! No wonder, though, because I have always leaned towards the side of nude colors.
The NYX lipstick was quite difficult to apply and dried out really fast. If you take your time and slowly apply it on your lips, you’ll notice how they dry out really fast. But if you apply it really fast and evenly, wow, you’ll have a great lippie day ahead of you!
This lipstick really stays. On. Your. Lips. One of my common problems with lipsticks is that they always transfer to cups and bottles, which is a total bugger for me. I always have water and coffee/tea with me wherever I go. I drink a lot. And everytime I do, part of the lipstick gets erased. Furthermore, I feel ashamed when I see a huge lot of lipstick on the mug that I’m using. I’m really conscious about this especially when I’m in class and in meetings.
Not with NYX lipstick, though. The tint and color on your lips do not get transferred. I will rate this product 9/10. Will surely buy my own next time!
Now if NYX was such a wonder, Colourpop is even beyond that. It was easier to apply and stayed on my lips THE WHOLE DAY (I couldn’t stress this enough!!!) NO WORDS. I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!!! The shade I got is actually similar to MAC Matte Taupe (which I have also tried before), and the Colourpop goes waaaaaaaay beyond the performance of MAC lipstick.
I will rate Colourpop 10.5/10. I will not only buy myself some, but I will hoard a great deal. This is gold. <3
