to those who are left by "friends"
You need to be you when they leave you.
It is not that you are not enough, but that you are more than enough. You do not have to run after people who decide to slither away, you are not a snake keeper. You do not have to apologize for the people who wronged you, you are not their mistakes. You do not have to give them all you can, you are not limitless.
People come, people go, and your friends do not leave you because they found someone better than you. They need to leave because you deserve people better than them. You have always been the best, and even when you love them, you are still bound to end up with the best. Do not anchor your ship on those who do not want you to do better than them just because no matter what they do, you are still two notches above when they scramble to climb up. They leave not because they do not want you, but because they want to be you. They distance themselves from you not just because of who you are, but also because of who they are and who they cannot be.
You are not a simile; you do not have to be like them when you and them are very different things. Like up and down, like fireworks and cigarette lights– like when you soar high to wow the world with your colors and when they passively wait for their lights to run out.
You are a diamond among dozens of stones. Somewhere sometime you are bound to be lifted from the dirt that hold you down.
